In order to soar the mountain, you have to traverse through various villages and towns which in a way offers a great insight into the local lifestyle and culture. Our 7N/8D package to Mount Saramati will offer you a drive through Dimapur, Kohima, Pungro, Thanamir leading to the peak. As you reach the top, (if the weather is clear) you will get eye popping view of the beautiful heap of mountains of Nagaland and a spellbinding sight of the Chindwin River of Myanmar.

Saramati is a peak rising above the surrounding peaks at the mountainous border of Nagaland state and the Sagaing Region, Burma. It is located near Thanamir Village in the Kiphire District of Nagaland.

With a height of 3,826 m and a prominence of 2,885 m, Saramati is one of the ultra prominent peaks of Southeast Asia.
It is the abode of one of the Pristine Forest of Nagaland and house to the variety of flora and fauna.

DAY 1 : DIMAPUR TO KOHIMA/ JAKHAMA

As you arrival at Dimapur, you will meet our representative thereafter a drive to Kohima/ Jakhama. On reaching you can check in Homestay .

Overnight Stay

DAY 2 : JAKHAMA/ KOHIMA TO PUNGRO

After breakfast, you will be taken towards Pungro , being a mountainous state, the time of travel to Pungro can take up to 12 hours. It may be far but the sights you will see are breathtaking.

Pungro is in the Kiphire district towards the east. Here, the mountains will seem to appear large. A vast acre of green terrace fields, jhum patches, and streams flowing in the middle of the road will make the journey feel even more interesting.

DAY 3: PUNGRO TO THANAMIR

Pungro – Thanamir Village

After an overnight stay in Pungro, head to Thanamir Village, famous for apple orchards.

Thanamir is the base village for the trek. It is also the first place in Nagaland to have an apple orchard and grown on a large scale.

DAY 4 : THANAMIR-MOUNT SARAMATI BASE CAMP

Morning after breakfast, y onward journey yo Saramati base camp.

As the trek to the mountain is moderately difficult, an early start is the best option. The trail from the village to Mt. Saramati has the most beautiful landscape. It involves constant ascents and descents, and probably the biggest challenge in this trail will be a climb which is around a 50-foot rock wall.

Further along the beaten path, you will come across the Mount Saramati Base Camp. The scenic view of the hills below the rolling clouds is a sight that draws out a content sigh. You can set up a tent here and enjoy the phenomena of the uninterrupted view of nature.

DAY 5 : SUMMIT - MOUNT SARAMATI BACK TO THANAMIR

Mount Saramati Base Camp – Saramati Peak

From the base camp, the peak is around 2 hours hike. Start early to let the deep orange hue from the sun guide you. It is not just exotic flowers that you get to see but also strong roots of trees emerging out of the ground, which you can grasp onto while climbing.

The view from the top of Mount Saramati is mesmerizing. A strong gush of wind and smell from the flowers will almost give you an antidote to relax after a long week of hiking. At the top, witness the sunrise and spend some time before heading back to the base camp.

Have early lunch and prepare for return back to Thanamir base camp and on arrival Overnight at Thanamir.

DAY 6 :THANAMIR TO SINGREP via KIPHIRE

After breakfast, get your bags ready and we will proceed toward Singrep via Kiphire

Visit Salomi cave on way .

The caves of Salomi is in the Salomi village is a natural wonder with numerous entries and exit points. The architectural excellence of the nature do not end here. The cave is also connected to the Likimro river. This is one of the major wonders of the nature which really puzzles and enthralls.

Overnight stay at Singrep - Campsite .

DAY 7 : SINGREP TO KOHIMA/JAKHAMA

Early morning catch the beautiful sunrise above bed of clouds over Kiphire district later have breakfast and proceed towards towards onward journey to Kohima - Jakhama

DAY 8 : KOHIMA TO DIMAPUR

After breakfast in , you will be driven to Dimapur for your onward travel connection.
